2023 Scottish Backyard Slalom Series - Round Up

Final series scores were recorded and prizes awarded during a bumper Stop 4 of the 2023 Backyard Slalom Series.

Backyard Slalom Series events are inclusive of all abilities and focused on fun but with a hint of competition thrown in for good measure. There was certainly some competition in the Backyard Score Series with Lorcan Morrison narrowly missing out on the overall series win to his older sister Ellie who recorded a perfect score across the three events. Congratulations to Emma Roberts who despite being presented with a number of challenges managed to take third place in the series.

With more participants taking part and recording scores in the Competition Series than ever before the series was separated into Male and Female competitions for the final event and series overall. Chris Heron and Georgina Hutchison came out on top after setting down strong scores in all three series events. After a consistent series Kim Johnston took second place in the womens competition and was joined on the second step of the podium by Kevin Lochhead who was able to win both the events he took part in. Third place finishes for Dougie Potts and Anna Morris rewarded strong performances in the events they took part in.

This year a developmental Trick Ski Competition was introduced during the Town Loch events with free Coaching Clinics provided during the lead up to each competition. The first round saw participants complete a challenge run with the second giving them a chance to show off their full repertoire of skills.
